Paul Smith A/W 13

After interning at Paul Smith for four weeks, I was privileged enough to be invited to their show at London Fashion Week. It was one of the most surreal and incredible experiences of my life, seated amongst some of the greatest and most respected names in the fashion industry, I was a little starstruck to say the least! The show was held at the Tate Britain, a magnificent venue to showcase the Best of British!

Paul Smith is renowned for his 'classic with a twist' style and he displayed this at its best at LFW. The collection was full of vibrant colour and flawless colour blocking, cerise was pared with purple, vivid rust teamed with turquoise, "it's so dour out there at the moment - colour makes us happy" and it certainly put a smile on my face.

The collection highlighted Sir Paul's signature effortless boy meets girl phenomenon, full of exquisite tailoring the collection was made up of cropped trousers which were worn with oversized tweed coats, strapless mini dresses with masculine blazers, loafers with skirts and shirts.

Although packed full of classics this collection had a little bit of edge...metallic trousers were worn with crisp shirts and chunky boots giving a rock and roll vibe to the show. Fabrics were luxurious with a mixture of georgette, crepe de chine and soft cashmere.

The models created a rainbow of colour as they walked to David Bowie's Let's Dance in the finale.

"My girl is the type of girl you'd want to meet on the street"
-Paul Smith

(actually, we would just quite like to be her)

Burberry Prorsum Autumn 2013

18 February 2013 meant only one thing in the fashion world:
Burberry Prorsum Autumn 2013

The Burberry FROW is always a major talking point at London Fashion Week - and this one did not disappoint.

They showed up to watch the show, we tuned in to watch them (and the outstanding catwalk which goes without saying).

It was a front row full of glitz and glamour, here are some of our favourites...

Olivia Palermo

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Gabriella Wilde

 Kate Beckinsale

Other stars included Rita Ora, Freida Pinto, Tinie Tempah, Victoria Pendleton and Ana Wintour.

To top it off, they had a live performance by up and coming Tom Odell accompanied by a gospel choir to close the phenomenal show whilst Cara Delevingne put her best foot forward on the catwalk.

Playlist included:
Misty Miller "Happy Together"
Paloma Faith "Picking Up The Pieces"
Tom Odell "Hold me"

Wow. That is how to pull off a fantastic show.

Not to mention the incredible collection, here are a few glimpses:

Bravo.

Spice Up Your Life!!!

We love a good musical and Viva Forever was just that!

As big fans of the Spice Girls, when we heard that there was a musical based on the girls songs we knew we had to go! As we were singing along in our seats to all the classics it was a fun trip down memory lines (we hadn't forgotten a single word). The phenomenal cast did the Spice Girls complete justice with their unique interpretations and renditions of such loved songs.

Head to Harvey Nichols to complete your ultimate girly day with the VIVA FOREVER! Afternoon Tea Menu at the Fifth Floor.

The tea treats are created with reference to each of the girl's individual personalities

"Enjoy a ginger and lemon layer cake with Union Jack decoration; a not so scary chilli chocolate roll with leopard printed chocolate discs; a zesty and energetic orange chocolate chip cake pop, inspired by Sporty’s love of Chupa Chups; a very posh Victoria sponge shopper and a sweet and innocent vanilla and raspberry mousse prepared ‘baby style’."

grab your girls and go!

What better way to treat yourself on Sunday than with sweets. Pop in (GO OUT OF YOUR WAY) to Sugar Sin in Covent Garden to satisfy your sweet tooth! With a pick n mix of sweets from all over Europe with a special focus on ones from Scandinavia, you are spoilt for choice. All the sweets are either hand picked or hand made to ensure the best quality which is evident in their deliciousness, trust us we know a good sweet when we taste one! You can even convince yourself these are a healthy choice as the sweets are made from natural colours, free from any trans fats and genetically modified ingredients (sounds good to us!)

Ice Ice Baby

Last night we went to the Ice Bar...an experience we will never forget! We knew it would be cold but with temperatures in the bar at -5 degrees, we were freeeeeeeezing. Situated just off Regent Street we were unsure of what to expect yet it didn't disappoint. Before entering the arctic conditions you are provided with thermal capes with fur rimmed hoods, although fun still not our finest fashion moment!!!
Naive as we were, it surprised us that even the cocktails were served in ice glasses (not the most practical) as well as the seats and tables which were also made of ice (infact, most of it was!) Only given a forty minute slot we weren't sure this was going to be enough time but when we couldn't feel our hands and legs forty minutes came just in time!

If you get a chance to go it is definitely worth it just wrap up warm!
