LV on the big screen

Louis Vuitton has released their first ever TV commercial, shown originally on CBS.

The advert features Arizona Muse on a voyage across France's capital, Paris, passing iconic sites including Louvre's Mona Lisa, whilst trying to break away from a mysterious character lingering in the shadows. She continues to unlock a Louis Vuitton iconic trunk and uncovering a letter. The final clip involves her escaping in a hot air balloon...

#WHOSTHATGIRL?

Topshop's first ever Christmas campaign was set off in a style. 5 L-O-N-G days of teaser videos and picture clues, thousands of fans tweeting their guess under hashtag #whosthatgirl. Topshop revealed yesterday who their secret featured star was and announced their competition winner.

Kate Bosworth is That Girl

Not only being the face of Topshop, Kate Bosworth is also in the run up for Christmas number one with Winter Wonderland, featuring in the Topshop advert campaign. Within the advert she is wearing a specially-made Topshop dress with shoes to match and thus more the advert was directed by her fiance - Michael Polish.

British Fashion Awards

All of London's most stylish elite flocked to the Savoy Hotel to celebrate in style the 2012 British Fashion Awards. Hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Gemma Arterton the awards saw the best of both British and International Fashion, full of glitz and glamour the line up of guests included Valentino, Manolo Blahnik, Stella Mcartney, Sarah Burton, Christopher Kane and Alexa Chung.

And the winners were:

Designer of the Year - Stella Mcartney

Designer Brand - Stella Mcartney

Special Recognition - Harold Tillman (Chairman of British Fashion Council)

Outstanding Achievement in Fashion - Manolo Blahnik 

Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator - Professor Louise Wilson ( Central St Martins - 30 shows at LFW are her alumni!!!)

Accessories Award - Nicholas Kirkwood

New Establishment Award - Erdem

Menswear Designer - Kim Jones (Louis Vuitton)

Emerging Talent Awards

Ready to Wear - J.W Anderson

Two icons together at last...

In 1960, George Belmont interviewed Marilyn Monroe on the set of 'Let's Make Love', speaking spontaneously about her famous quote; all she wore to bed was 'Just a few drops of No.5'. Thus bringing proof of the great association of the two icons; Chanel and Marilyn Monroe.  

Chanel has now released this film for the first time for all to hear. 

The two will be linked forever...

Tim Walker is one of the most influential and talented fashion photographers of today. Flicking through glossy magazines you are bound to come across Tim's beautiful photos and this exhibition did not disappoint. The exhibition featured over 175 inspirational images, they transport you into a world of imagination that has no creative boundaries. The exhibition is being shown at Somerset House until the 27th January 2013, so if you haven't been already it is a must!

Dress Up

The V&A always has the most wonderful exhibitions and this one looks like no exception! Join us by queueing round the block to get a first peek at these iconic hollywood costumes which have been a major fashion inspiration! A few that we are clicking our heels to see include Dorothy's dress from the Wizard of Oz, the iconic LBD worn by the beautiful Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's and "that dress" from Atonement worn by Keira Knightley. The exhibition is open now until the 27th January.

it is a must see for fashion and film lovers!

LBJ Part 2

The Little Black Jacket, one of the most iconic jackets of all time! The exhibition was composed of  beautiful photos with the LBJ as the key feature in them all. However, each photo had a quirky and clever way of showing the jacket... in one they had even cut it up...if I am ever lucky enough to have one I would never dream of doing that! The stunning photos were full of famous faces...male and female. A simple but chic exhibition...much like Chanel itself.
